About the Sonatina and Sonata
Sonatinas and Sonatas are a form of music that consists of three contrasting sections, or movements, of a musical piece. The movements usually begin with a lively, allegro section, have a slow & lyric middle section, and a brilliantly fast finale section. Additionally the movements can frequently have the form of 1) exposition in a home key, 2) development in a dominant key, and 3) recapitulation in the original key.
